The GeoNet 8910 Series is a wireless data acquisition system and hosted data platform that utilizes LoRa radio technology. The integrated system comprises a gateway and subordinate wireless data loggers for efficient collection of sensor data from many points. The data loggers can also operate using the LoRaWAN® protocol for use with LoRaWAN third-party gateways. Secure access to sensor data is provided via the Internet and GEOKON OpenAPI. The GeoNet 8910 Series is compatible with GEOKON (and most other manufacturers’) vibrating wire instruments and GEOKON addressable sensor strings (MEMS, VW, and thermistor). Wireless data acquisitions systems are especially useful in geographically complex locations where a wired infrastructure would be costly, or impossible, to install and difficult to maintain.

A Cellular Gateway¹ controls the network, collects all sensor data from any data loggers deployed, and provides seamless and secure cloud integration, which is achieved via GEOKON OpenAPI. The GEOKON OpenAPI is easy-to-use and allows users to activate data loggers, change settings, configure sensor channels, and view current data logger status. Industry leading data visualization software or the no-cost GEOKON Agent Software can be used with GEOKON OpenAPI for data viewing and reporting.

Multiple data logger types are available, including:

Vibrating Wire (VW) Data Loggers

Digital Data Loggers

  • Digital Addressable Data Loggers read all GEOKON addressable sensor strings (MEMS, VW, thermistor)
  • Digital High-Power data loggers can read up to 500 GEOKON MEMS sensors, or any other sensor that utilizes RS-485 Modbus® communication protocol

Tilt Loggers

  • Combines the functionality of a biaxial tiltmeter with a GeoNet data logger

The capacity of GeoNet 8910 Series Multi-Channel and Addressable Data Loggers can be expanded using the Model 8960 Series Digital Vibrating Wire Interfaces, and Solar Panels of various wattages are available.

¹GeoNet Cellular Gateways are compatible with all major networks except Verizon.
