New Features and Bug Fixes

Download 8001-3 LogView Software (Revision 3.0.0)

LogView 3.0.0 includes the following new features and bug fixes:

  1. Add ".txt" format to go along with .dat and .csv file export.
  2. Add Meta-data header option for Export Data.
  3. Limit iterations to 255 in Logarithmic Intervals.
  4. Remove all references to TILT.
  5. Adds "bar" output type for PRESSURE.
  6. Adds STRAIN measure type. Input type is "digits", output is "microstrain" (a - c).
  7. Adds sensor names and units to export header column names.
  8. Fixed problem where Datalogger Configs didn't stay put after moving them with "Move Up"/"Move Down."
  9. Added "Sort By" function in Context Menu. Right-click a project to sort loggers alphabetically or by creation date.
  10. LogView now displays an error dialog if Monitoring or Exporting Data is attempted without sensors defined.
  11. Fixed bug where a LogWare ".cfg" file import would fail when missing the "Label=" line. Added defaults for date and time formats as well as connection type.
  12. In "Find Logger" function, now detects if sensor type is set to "SYSTEM", will display an error and close the "New Datalogger Wizard."
  13. In addition to gage type "44XX", now disables temperature compensation for 4200, 4202 4204, 421X and 49XX gage types.
  14. Fixed problem where, if temperature compensation was enabled, it would be applied to zero readings.
  15. Fixed a problem with Terminal Window command entry when datalogger was set to 115200 baud.
  16. When uploading settings, LogView now checks for 5.2/3.1 version loggers and if found, sets undocumented output calculation parameter to "R1-R0". In a couple of cases, this was set incorrectly and the LogView gage factor adjustment was incorrect.
  17. Adds "Batch" export feature. Right-click on "Export->Data files" when a Project is selected and files from all dataloggers under the selected project can be exported.
  18. Fixed problems with FirmwareUpdater: a. Since logger bootloader always runs at 9600, LogView now passes only 9600 to Firmware Updater b. Fixed problem where Firmware Updater could not handle double-digit COM numbers, i.e. "COM19" c. Created 64 bit version of Firmware Updater to support 64-bit LogView.
  19. New LogView installer automatically detects whether Java64 or Java32 is installed and will install appropriate files for either. If both Java versions installed, LogViews defaults to 64-bit.
  20. Control Port output support now implemented. In "Intervals" tab of datalogger settings, control port timer can enabled/disabled and on-time and off-time set. Output can also be manually toggled for testing. Feature not yet released in datalogger but will be for version 5.3.X and 3.2.X.
  21. Improved handling of connection failures due to time and date format mismatches. Error messages will now identify the mismatch.
  22. New version of Import (Project or Logger). If a project (or logger) exists with the same name, a "differences" dialog will be displayed allowing some, all or none of the changes to be imported.
  23. LogView now keeps track of any "Save" in datalogger or sensor settings dialogs. If a "Save" has happened but no corresponding "Upload settings" before disconnecting, a warning dialog is displayed allowing the user to upload setttings before breaking the connection.
